We have added even more words from Padstow plus an article by  John Buckingham on Ellen Sloggett who wrote dialect stories under the pen names of Enys Trevarthen and Nellie Cornwall. We have also added three of Ellens books which you can read on line. You will find the Padstow collection on the North Cornwall page.

Also added are some similes from Frank Smeeth of St Gennys on the Cornish Dialect Phrases page.

We have added a link to the Cornish Gorsedd competitions page. If we have inspired you why not have a go at writing some Dialect poetry or prose.

Hope you enjoy

As we move into another year this dialect web site will grow even bigger, Malcolm Mc Carthy of Padstow has sent in a list of Cornish Dialect words recalled by him and with source where possible. Also we have added another list which have been collected by Mr Timms of Bude & District Old Cornwall, these were collected during his time farming in the Kilkhampton area, You will find the both list on the North Cornwall page for the moment. They will be added into the main A - Z as soon as possible.

At the present time I am not happy with the search engine we had on the site so have removed it. You can of course search each page by using the "find" facility on the edit page of your tool bar.

May I wish all of you a Happy New Year
